WHAT IS WHOLE BODY CRYOTHERAPY AND ITS BENEFITS?
Whole body cryotherapy is an exhilarating 3-minute treatment that reduces inflammation and alleviates insomnia while providing an unparalleled energy boost. Whole body cryotherapy uses dry, nitrogen vapors, safely and effectively, to lower the skin surface temperature to 30 degrees Fahrenheit in 30-45 seconds intervals for a maximum of 3-minutes. Essentially, we are tricking the skin to send a message to the brain to enter “fight or flight” mode. This causes your nervous system to fire, constricts blood vessels, and sends your blood to your core. While here, it is enriched with oxygen, becomes nutrient-dense, and flooded with enzymes. When the session ends, the brain now realizes it’s been tricked and sends this enriched blood supply back out to its extremities causing detoxification, a reduction in inflammation, and cell renewal. A BRIEF HISTORY
Whole body cryotherapy was developed in 1970 by Dr. Toshima Yamaguchi in Japan to assist patients in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Studies conducted in Europe over the last three decades have established that whole body cryotherapy is a powerful treatment reducing inflammation.

WHAT DO I WEAR?
You can wear whatever you want to your appointment. Once you arrive, you will have your own private changing room. We ask you to keep your underwear on and remove the rest of your clothing as well as any metal jewelry and piercings from the neck down. We provide clean, dry socks, gloves and neoprene booties to wear in the cryosauna. Women may keep on their bra as long as there is no exposed metal.

WHAT IF I'M CLAUSTROPHOBIC?
Our cryospecialist will make sure the cryosauna is properly adjusted and customized for your settings. Your head and neck are completely exposed the whole time and the sauna is actually quite spacious. The cryosauna door does not lock and can be opened with just a gentle push for an easy exit. The cryospeialist is in the room with you at all times, administering the session. If you feel uncomfortable at any point during your session, simply let them know and they will pause or stop the session immediately. Additionally, they have been trained to closely monitor your body language to recognize when you are feeling the least bit uncomfortable.
WHAT ARE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE?
Your safety is our highest priority in all that we do. Only a trained and certified cryo specialist can conduct your session. It is the responsibility of the cryo specialist to ensure that you are appropriately prepared, dressed and have the correct settings in place for your session. The cryosauna has an automatic shut off feature every 30 seconds thereby requiring the cryo specialist to be present at all times to keep the session going. Finally, the cryotherapy room has been designed and built with the highest safety standards in place including but not limited to properly calibrated monitors and the highest quality ventilation.
HOW COLD WILL IT GET INSIDE THE CRYOSAUNA?
SHOULD I DO CRYOTHERAPY BEFORE OR AFTER EXERCISE?
People who do cryotherapy before exercise claim they experience increased energy, endurance, and flexibility. People who do cryotherapy after exercise claim they experience faster recovery and rejuvenation. There is no right answer. Try it both ways and decide what works best for you. However, note that we cannot administer any treatments if your hair is wet or your body has sweat or moisture. Your blood pressure also needs to be back down to <160/100.
