Before your first appointment, please fill out our waiver. Each service has its own set of contraindications and requires its own waiver. A link to these waivers is included in your appointment confirmation email. 

Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time. Upon arrival, call our center 860.255.7771 to let us know that you are here. You will then be greeted by one of our team members.

 
 

A BRIEF HISTORY

Cryo-lipolysis, also known as "fat freezing", was discovered by two scientists at Harvard who noticed that some children who sucked on popsicles got dimples in their cheeks. They discovered that freezing temperatures can target fat cells without damaging the skin.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I USE CRYO BODY SCULPTING?


We wish we could give you a definitive answer, however, the number of sessions needed and frequency will vary based on the individual and their goals. During your first treatment, our CryoSpecialist will chat with you at length about your goals, history, means, and schedule. Together you will develop a plan that works towards achieving your goals without becoming an additional stressor in your life. Balance is key.




WHAT DO I WEAR?


We suggest wearing loose comfortable clothing the day of your service.




HOW DO I PREPARE?


(1) Increase water intake, include lemon if possible

(2) Keep skin free of lotions to treated areas

(3) Wear loose clothing day of treatment

(4) Avoid caffeine, sugar and carbs 2 – 3 hours before treatment (if possible 4 – 5 hours is best)

(5) Avoid exercise directly before a session as this will make it more difficult to cool your body sufficiently to achieve cryolipolysis.




HOW LONG IS A SESSION?


Length of your appointment time will vary based upon the Cryo Body Sculpting goals you are looking to achieve. Your first appointment will always be the longest as we are getting to know each other. For planning purposes, approximately 60 minutes for your visit.




HOW MANY SESSIONS ARE NECESSARY?


You may see immediate results after your first session. However, depending on your desired results multiple sessions will likely be required. During your first visit, our CryoSpecialist will sit with you and make recommendations for frequency and minimum number of sessions required to achieve desired results. Always keeping in mind that these are purely recommendations and that everyone’s “body” is different and will react to the treatment differently. Therefore, the recommendations will be purely based upon previous customers’ experience and are in no way a guarantee/promise of results.




WHAT ARE THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS IN PLACE?


Your safety is our highest priority in all that we do. Only a trained and certified specialist can conduct your session. It is the responsibility of the cryo specialist to ensure that you are appropriately prepared, and have the correct settings in place for your session. Our equipment has an automatic shut off feature XXX. Finally, the cryotherapy room has been designed and built with the highest safety standards in place including but not limited to properly calibrated monitors and the highest quality ventilation.




WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY SESSION?


At a minimum: -Continue to increase water intake and add lemon and/or apple cider vinegar, if possible -Avoid alcohol (1 day)Avoid processed foods, artificial sweeteners, dairy and soy (1 – 2 days) -Avoid sugars (especially fructose), refined grains (especially gluten), chemically modified fats and limit high salt foods (1 - 2 days) -Increase your magnesium intake -Exercise daily … 15 – 30 minutes -Practice deep breathing techniques -Dry brush in sweeping motions, always towards heart -Massage or wrap of the area for slight compression (legs, arms or stomach) In addition, please be mindful that Cryo Body-Sculpting is only targeting subcuntaneous fat, the fat that sits just below your skin. This does not improve visceral fat, the fat around your organs. Therefore, a healthy diet and moderate exercise is ALWAYS recommended in conjunction with Cryo Body-Sculpting.




WHAT IS THE AGE REQUIREMENT?


14 years of age with parental consent.




ARE THERE ANY HEALTH CONCERNS TO CONSIDER BEFORE PARTICIPATING IN A CRYOTHERAPY SESSION?


Anyone with the following conditions may not experience cryotherapy: History of blood clots Allergy to cold Pregnancy uncontrolled seizure disorder. Raynaud’s Syndrome Uncontrolled high-blood pressure Prior heart attack Unstable chest pain Disease of the blood vessels Uncontrolled seizure disorder




DOES IT HURT?


Absolutely not.
